Have clutter? If you’re ready to part with your not-so-useful-anymore stuff, make a trip to the Spring Cleaning Reuse and Recycle event at the Golf Mill Shopping Center in Niles on Saturday, May 2, from 11am – 4pm. Examples of items that will be accepted include:
- Household electronics (computers, monitors, cell phones, PDA’s, video game consoles, etc.)
- Printer cartridges
- Gently used clothing and furniture
- Household hardware (kitchen and bathroom fixtures, doors, windows, and light fixtures, etc.)
If you have any questions about what items are acceptable to donate, contact the Golf Mill Shopping Center office at 847-699-1070.
As you may have heard, today is Earth Day. Did you know that Earth Day has been around since 1970? Its first theme was “New Energy for a New Era” – a focus that is still relevant nearly 40 years later.

Families and friends of all ages are invited to the Library’s 2nd Annual Spring Blast Outdoor Festival, a celebration of the Morton Grove Public Library and its community. Games, music, “green” mini golf, and activities for children and teens will be provided. This year we are featuring Science Chicago Partners, such as: Field Museum’s Renewable Energy Vehicle & Go Kart, Northwestern University Mechanical Engineering Dept.’s Solar Car, Fermilab’s hands-on Science Exhibits, First Robotics Illinois’ robots and Mike Davis from Harold Washington College in a chemistry science show! Some activities will be held inside the Library as well. If weather does not cooperate the Spring Blast will be held entirely inside the Library. Come and join us in the fun!
The Spring Blast will take place at the Morton Grove Public Library on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00-2:30pm.
